Family of 3.

This whole session made me smile. Happy parents. Sweet little baby. Pretty light. Summer evening. Laughter. Family.

I’m starting with my one of my favorites. This photo was important to Emily, and I think it was a great idea. See, Ed & Emily met at a 5K race, and wanted to somehow showcase that in this family image. I love the story this tells. Look at Nathan’s new sneakers! Such a little honey.

Mr. Baby Blues was such a good little guy- even spending a few minutes in this fun (new to me) antique scale-

The two family dogs had to make an appearance. ‘Definitely some of the best behaved dogs I’ve ever encountered. Not one bark or whine from them the entire time. Even when they were bored and sitting in the truck while we were shooting photos. Plus, there was a border collie. I’m not a dog owner, but that border collie would have been completely welcome to come home with me. We raised border collies when we were young (okay, my parents did all the work) and seeing this beautiful dog brought back all sorts of memories.

Ed, Emily & Nathan (and Nathan’s grandma) – Thank you for being so kind to Kayla and I- you were so enjoyable to work with. I loved your sense of newness and excitement, mixed with appreciation of your little boy. There are wonderful things ahead as your parenting journey begins, and I’m so happy for you! It was so nice meeting all of you!
