New.

It may be naive and traditional, but there is something I love about the beginning of a year.

The feeling of burgeoning hope and planning, of dreaming and not knowing what the next 364 days may bring.

If given the choice, I wouldn’t want to know what lies ahead.

Somehow, there’s a sense of peace in the not knowing, in the trusting that it will all work out.

A secure and concrete knowledge that it always has.

I wouldn’t trade the past years, the ups and downs we’ve faced.

I also wouldn’t want to go through some of the same things again.

But I have a sense that 2012 is going to be a good year-

That this is going to be a year filled with memories and blessings.

Milestones reached and dreams achieved.

Lists to make and errands to run and jobs to do.

Travel and family and objectives to attain.

Children growing and learning new things and somehow teaching us through it all.

Struggle and persevering and a plan fulfilled.

I’m rather looking forward to that day.

2012.

There is so much hope for the unknown, the long days in this year ahead.

What are you looking forward to?

Oh, it’s delightful to have ambitions. I’m so glad I have such a lot. And there never seems to be any end to them– that’s the best of it. Just as soon as you attain to one ambition you see another one glittering higher up still. It does make life so interesting.”

Julie - I couldn’t help but think, on Saturday night as 2011 was coming to a close, that 2012 was going to be good. I felt a peace in my heart that it was going to bring nothing but blessings!

Betsy Jo - @ Julie- I hope that very thing for you!
