Raspberry.

I post this knowing that I will probably look back and laugh at how elementary my first knitting project was… Regardless, I enjoyed just about every minute of creating it.

I like the happy raspberry colored scarf.

If you’re a knitter and want to know this pattern or this yarn name, I’m afraid I have no idea. This is a photography blog, after all. Katie got me the yarn, the pattern and the needles. Yup, I have a good sister. That girl knows her way around a yarn shop, for sure.

I like real raspberries, too.

And I like my new yarn bowl from Muddy Brook Potters.

There’s a great opportunity to get your own knitting bowl, via my sisters’ blog. Enter here to be eligible for their giveaway on niceandknit.com. If they reach 100 comments by the end of today, they will give away an additional bowl. My Dad is a potter, and created these yarn bowls exclusively for Nice and Knit. Pretty spiffy! I’m so stinking proud of my sisters and their successful blog. They started it only 5 months ago, and already have made quite a name for themselves! ‘So happy for them.

(And please, if you knit, no laughing at my first project… :))

Colleen - I too am privileged to have a yarn bowl and I started really using it lately ( not just another space to stash skeins) and boy do I really like it! Highly recommend acquiring your own! And I too know just the place!

Shara - You know what they say about the journey of one thousand miles – you just have to get started! Not that my opinion carries any weight but the scarf looks lovely to me. :)

ericamayshort - WOW! Can I buy one of those yarn bowls online? My sister-in-law is a fantastic knitter and has everything she could possibly need for knitting… except one of those! She would love it so much, and her birthday is coming up. :) Let me know if I can buy one! Your dad does such amazing work. This winter, we drank cocoa out of the mugs you sent me a few years ago. :)
