Micah Paul. Newborn Photos.

A couple of weeks ago, Paul and I experienced a wonderful (and too short) trip to Illinois. We got to stay at my sister Melinda’s house, and while there, ended up shooting a couple of photo sessions. This is one of them. And it makes my heart happy that we had the privilege to spend some time with this baby boy and his parents.
Sarah’s my little cousin, and she’s always had a special place in my heart. A kindred spirit, you could call it. So when I heard they were expecting Micah around the time of our trip to Illinois, I was wicked happy. This sweet baby boy of hers has been longed for and prayed for over the span of many days, and we are so thankful to be able to rejoice with them at Micah Paul’s arrival. Sarah has taken to mothering like it was always what she was just meant to do. The love she has for her baby boy is remarkable and beautiful to watch. He’s such a placid and content little guy in her arms. Brandon and Sarah, we are so, so happy for you. Thanks for letting us snuggle and squish him for awhile. He’s such a honey.

Sarah’s friend Heather made these adorable little slippers. And now I wanna’ learn how to crochet… So cute!

I think he looks so much like his Grandpa in this picture. Something tells me he doesn’t mind too much. (Right, Uncle Bud?)

Sarah’s mom, my dear Aunt Anne, traveled to Illinois for Micah’s arrival and stayed to help out for a few weeks. She’s clearly in love with her little boy.
