This was such a bright, summery morning in Illinois. It was so nice to stay at Dan and Melinda’s house, to see their pretty location and enjoy being made to feel right at home. I loved seeing the view for miles outside their living room window, finally seeing what their ‘new’ house looks like, and just being able to picture them with pretty trees on their property- like there’s a little piece of Connecticut’s landscape out West. That made my heart happy, to see those big old trees keeping my sister company.
We didn’t have much time to visit, but the time we did have was full, and we wish it could have been longer. Melinda is a fabulous cook. Her peach pie is just as good as my Mom’s, and that is saying something. Her culinary skills alone would have been enough to make us want to stay. But add in the love of family ties along with that sweet niece and nephew of ours, and it’s always, always hard to say goodbye.
Love all four of you so much.
To quote from one Winnie the Pooh- How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.
Cheryl - Love these pictures. It really was a stellar day! I especially love #7 where Kerigan looks like she is telling the horse what to do and it is looking at her so unimpressed!
Shara - Love Kerigan’s curls!
