of bubbles & birthdays

A little recap of Nora and Connor’s 7th birthday.

I’ll let the photos tell (most of) the story.  You know I can’t resist chiming in with a caption or 2:

Okay, here’s where I chime in with a comment.  Katie, I hate to tell you, but Brandon knew better than you.  :)  That bubble maker was a HIT.  We (yes, myself included) played with it for almost 2 hours. Played with it, laughing most of the time, during that golden hour of light right before sunset. SO fun. And please don’t buy Brandon one.  One of his aunts wants to get him one when he turns 7…

Okay, here’s my last little chiming in bit:  Joel took these next 5 images.  And I’ll just say it– you know how some parents burst with an overwhelming happy feeling when their child gets an awesome grade, or graduates from Harvard or something?  Well, I felt that way about these photos.  Yup.  All it takes is Joel learning to shoot manual– forget graduating. I love that he knows how to use the camera.  I love teaching him, and listening to him yell, “Mom!  I got the shot!  I definitely got it!” I see him snapping away, nailing the exposure in camera, and think, “That’s my boy!”  (Okay, so it doesn’t take much, I know.)
