Friday Favorite. #14.

It’s still Friday.

I know this is late, but I wanted to take the time to share this week’s Friday Favorite- even though, well, it’s kind of dangerous.

See, I’ve long wondered what these kind of confections taste like. I see these macarons in pictures, piled high, or crafted into tall triangular towers. And I was curious.

I looked up recipes to make my own. And then saw that the techniques involved were out of my skill range, and beyond the scope of my kitchen tools. (As in a metric gram scale. Nope. Thankyouanyway.)

So I figured I can buy them, and surprise Paul with them. You know, that way I can try the macarons and make my foodie husband smile all at once.

Know what?

It worked.

He smiled.

I tasted.

They were good. Really good. Different than I expected- kind of a crispy shell, with a chewy center.

We all enjoyed our samples. There are so many flavors available- like pistachio, lavender with chocolate ganache, cappuccino, lemon, raspberry, vanilla anglaise.

And about 17 more.

Would you like to try some of your own?

You can.

Here.

Have you ever had these kind of macarons?

Do enjoy.

They were definitely a special treat.

Shara - Think I’ve made roughly a thousand of these – I think you’d be up to the challenge, Betsy! And they are quite yummy.
