Hello, February.

A little over a week ago, this is what we were doing:

Making snowballs and testing out ice skates and watching the zamboni.

Yesterday, this is what we were doing:

Playing soccer in the backyard after school, feeling the heat from a late winter sun.

Enjoying high 50s and high kicks and even higher spirits.

That was then:

Freezing fingers and 20 degrees and snow shoveling. Topped off with Grandma’s hot chocolate.

This is now:

Swing sets and the warmth of an evening sun, reading in the backyard, testing for the subtle smell of (maybe? an early?) spring.

(Someone was trying to warn me that the soccer ball was headed for my back as I took pictures – oops. Too late! And too funny!)

Then:

And now:

~

And so we start the month with 60 degrees, happy sunlight, and even happier hearts.

Welcome, February.

We’re glad you’re here.
